We just returned from our trip to China and we wanted to tell you that the trip was very well organised and that our guide Tony Hou was the best tour guide that we have ever had on any of our previous world trips. He was very organised and everything went seamlessly. We never waited for any of our connections, meals or excursions, which was remarkable. He is extremely knowledgeable and is a wonderful teacher who communicated to us his love of China, its culture,and people. Our trip exceeded our expectations thanks to Tony.

Recently I had an opportunity to take the 13 days Yangtze River special tour. It was great. I do wish we had more time at the Great Wall; we only have 45 minutes there. Everything else was amazing. I have been home a few weeks from the awesome trip to China and I want to thank you so much for all your efforts in making it a great trip. I enjoyed all the places we visited and the experiences we had. I think that our guide throughout called Michael Hai was just the best in looking after the group and helping us learn about the culture and traditions of China. Air Canada did provide the gluten free meals that you requested on the overseas flights. Air Canada also gave us credit for the airmiles which was really a bonus for us. Hello Fellow Travellers, I never had the chance to say farewell properly to everybody in our group, but wanted to do so now and thank each and everyone of you for being part of my lifelong dream of taking Krysta and Kurtis to see and experience their ancestry roots in China. Special thanks to Alex Feng for being our national guide throughout this memorable journey, and especially for displaying such enduring patience, knowledge, humour and professionalism in showcasing the best of China. I have returned back to Canada with new insight and enthusiasm to send more visitors there and armed with firsthand experience of historic sights to see, various cuisines from different regions, shopping knowledge, and even practical tips on such things as restroom (particularly bend and squat facilities) etiquette! It was an amazing and memorable trip, as I am sure you will all agree, and I hope that our paths will cross again sometime in the future. Thanks to all of your for help with my trip. All of the hotels were very worthy of their five star rating. I would like to commend the tour guides Adam, Carol, Chris of the Paradise boat, and the older lady who escorted us to the Three Gorges airport, for making the trip pleasant and informative. Chris was especially helpful as she personally attended to me when I developed a very swollen hand. She checked on me often, bringing ice pads an or hot pads even though she tended to her other important duties. She seemed to be in charge of the ships entertainment, and all of descriptions of the important landmarks and of the statistics of the dams and locks, just to mention a few. What an employee! She was loved by everyone. I sent a note to the captain about Chris and her sidekick, Yoyo. All in all, the trip was very interesting and educational. I would highly recommend it to anyone.

Hello Fiona. Just returned from May 12-27 China tour. Our tour was indeed the trip of a lifetime and would love to return some day. The river cruise and Shanghai were the highlights for me. Hi Fiona. Well here we are back in Canada after a marvellous tour in China!!! We both thoroughly enjoyed the experience, and feel that you and Chinapac do a great job, as does Master Peng You and Michael Hai as guide. Don't worry about the mix-up over the cabin up-grade. It all worked out in the end. We paid to upgrade to the Presidential Suite and absolutely LOVED it. Michael and Peng You were SO helpful in the negotiations to get the upgrade. I don't think I could have done it without them!!!! Thanks for the lovely fruit bowl and the flower basket was such a lovely suprise when we left! I had checked out several other tours to China and there is not any other that offers such a variety of memorable experiences at such an affordable price and with such excellent guides!!! It's the best!!

I am writing to tell you how absolutely wonderful our tour with ChinaPac (March 19th - April 3rd, 2011) was, starting with the prompt and attentive care provided by Fiona from your Vancouver office. The tour was extremely well organized with excellent service throughout. We also wanted to take this opportunity to tell you just how very fortunate you are to have Tony Hou (Wei Hou) in your employ. He is an invaluable person in the guide industry, especially to ChinaPac of course, and we consider ourselves very fortunate to have had Tony as our guide on our recent trip. As you are aware, others have said in their testimonials that Tony is superb, amongst other things. Truly, that is just one perfect adjective to describe him. The level of service provided by Tony throughout our tour can also be described as exceptional. In our opinions, there's simply no area in which Tony could have improved upon his performance. He was outstanding throughout. I had read some testimonials prior to leaving on our trip, and Tony's name kept coming up. I said to my husband, "I really hope we have Tony for our guide". When we arrived at the airport in Beijing and he said his name was Tony, I nearly grabbed and hugged him right then!! Tony told us at that time, that he would be our guide from that moment on until we said our goodbyes in Shanghai. We were very relieved to hear that as we've heard from others that they had gone through many guides when they have travelled to China (through different companies) and would have much preferred the ChinaPac way. Tony was extremely knowledgeable, well-informed, energetic, entertaining, flexible and always available. My husband and I are very much type A personalities - meaning we are very organized with everything that we do. Needless to say, this is the way Tony is as well. He was always ahead of the game, anticipating all our needs. I had mentioned to him at the very beginning (perhaps in the airport in fact) if there was any chance of seeing panda bears while we were on our trip. He just said, we'll see what we can do. Quite honestly, we didn't think much more about it, as we were kept so wonderfully busy. Then one morning he appears on the bus and tells us we're off to see the pandas at feeding time!! Needless to say, we were more than thrilled. To know that he took that extra step to make that happen really touched us. It was wonderful to see the pandas - we took many, many pictures that day. Jenny, another reason for writing this recommendation for Tony is to let you and ChinaPac know what also happened to us while we were in Shanghai. On March 31st Dave took ill and deteriorated rapidly in the morning to the point where we felt it was necessary to seek medical treatment immediately. I phoned Tony on his cell, and he immediately made arrangements for one of his associates (Brian) in the office to come to the hotel and pick me and my husband up and then take a taxi to the appropriate downtown hospital, namely the HuashanWorldwideMedicalCenter. Dave was admitted and spent two nights in the hospital during which Tony checked on his progress frequently and visited him in the hospital at least twice a day. Tony also ensured that I was looked after as far as food and getting a ride both to the hospital and back to the hotel at night. If it wasn't Tony, he arranged for Brian to come with me. Brian too is a very pleasant person and also was key in making this ordeal somewhat easier. Thank you Brian. I always felt secure and trusted Tony immensely throughout this time as it was very scary for both Dave and I. Tony was incredible. We'll never be able to thank him for everything he did. As a result of the hospital incident, we missed some touring opportunities in Shanghai. On Sunday, April 3rd, Tony, on his own, made arrangements for the three of us to visit major local sites in the morning, that included the Silk Factory which we both had really wanted to see. Again, another example of him going over and beyond. Our tour was made most memorable and special by our new friend Tony Hou. Thank you Tony for everything you did for Dave and I. We look forward to seeing you in our country sometime soon.We are already looking forward to our next Asian tour with ChinaPac. Thank you Jenny and Tony!!

Just wanted to drop you a note to say how much I enjoyed my recent 16 day tour to China with ChinaPac. I took my nine year old son for Spring Break and was joined by my brother, his ten year old daughter and older son and we all had an amazing time. My concerns of taking my son on such a trip were soon put to rest after we landed and were greeted by our tour guide, Tony Hou. He quickly got us settled into the hotel and made sure that anything anyone needed was arranged for. This approach and attention to detail was what we ecountered the whole trip. He gave us so much information about China, its people, religion and beliefs. One thing I really liked about him is that if he didn’t know the answer to one of the many questions, he was truthful and didn’t just make up an answer. Ni Hao. My husband and I just returned from the most wonderful trip to China with Chinapac. We met our Tour Manager/Guide Frank in Shanghai who was with us for the entire trip plus Kudos to all our city guides at each stop also. All five star hotels were amazing (especially Beijing with the hot toilet) as was the food with a different variety each day. We experienced 2000 year old history that we believed we might never see - Great Wall, Terra Cotta Warriors where we met Mr. Young who discovered them, Temple of Heaven, Three Gorges Dam (largest in the world), Shennong Stream, Forbidden City. We experienced two amazing shows. The last night was our Peking Dinner special and happened to be my husband's birthday. The restaurant had a huge cake for him which everyone got to experience. Everything was first class and with Frank's help, it was the most memorable trip we have ever had. There is just too much to describe in a small paragraph. Thank you Chinapac. Xie Xie!

Hi Cindy, (Shanghai private city tour) I also want to give high praises to our guide Ching in Shanghai, but wanted to do it in a separate email. She too was very personable and very flexible. She quickly picked up the kind of things we enjoyed, for example, said "I can tell you are museum people" and suggested we spend extra time in the Shanaghai museum of art. She was right--we loved it. When she found out we could spend an extra day in Shanghai because the cruise ship was not going to Japan, she arranged to take us to one of the water towns--a highlight of the tour. She went out of her way to be accommodating--if we wanted to spend more time at one place, she found a way to fit it in. Ching is a charming young lady who was an excellant guide, who was able to make our three days in Shanghai a memorable experience. I also want to thank the drivers in Beijing and Shanghai, who kept us safe in some heavy and frenetic traffic. Please keep me on your email list for future tours in Asia. Ni Hao Cindy, On behalf of my group, I wanted to say a big XIE, XIE. We all had a great time, enjoying the company of others, the sites, shopping, not to mention the hotels and food, which were all exceptional. The city guides were good, sharing their knowledge of their country and city with us, as well as the "dos and don'ts", but I must admit that Alex, our Shanghai guide, is outstanding. Not many guides would offer to spend a day off with tourists (our free day), arranging for bus transportation and escorting us on the Maglev Train and to the CityMuseum. Experiencing the high speed Maglev Train certainly was a highlight - top speed 431 km/hr! (You may not be aware that there was an architect, as well as an engineer within my group.) I probably mentioned that Alex was my Shanghai guide when on a previous Chinapac tour. (I just checked the date; it was March/07.) He is a great asset to Chinapac. Since my return last week, clients and friends have been asking about the trip, particularly the food, which seems to be one of their hesitations in travelling to China. When I've responded saying that it was fantastic, they are surprised; people have no idea of all the delicious dishes put before us. I have some educating to do.
