Borneo offers an abundance of wildlife and jungles for the adventurous traveller. You'll trek through its lush vegetation and unique flora, relax on the famous Coral Islands and experience the rich culture and customs of the locals.
Day 1 Kota Kinabalu
(Flight on PAX own arrangements to arrive into Kota Kinabalu) Arrival in Kota Kinabalu Airport, meet/greet & proceed to Coral Island jetty for island tour with packed lunch. Return to Kota Kinabalu city in the late afternoon & check in hotel of your choice. Rest of the day at leisure. (L)
Day 2 Kota Kinabalu
After breakfast, depart Northbound on a 2.5 hour's drive to Kinabalu National Park, elevation 5000 feet above sea level. You will get an opportunity to see native villages, handicraft stalls, Rubber plantations & fruit orchards along the route. Upon reaching the Park, join in a trail walk and visit the Mount Kinabalu Botanical Gardens. Learn about the rich flora and fauna at the Park's Exhibit Centre. Lunch is included. Late afternoon, depart back to Kota Kinabalu & to your hotel. (B/L)
Day 3 Kota Kinabalu - Miri
Breakfast & check out of hotel. Transfer to Kota Kinabalu Airport for your flight to Miri & onwards to MULU. Upon arrival in MULU, you will be met and transferred to your hotel. In the afternoon depart for a visit to the Deer Caves and Lang Caves (MULU famous Show caves). Return to resort in the evening & have dinner. (B/D)
Day 4 Miri - Kuching
Daily breakfast in nature resort & depart for a visit to Wind Caves and Clear Water Caves. Lunch is provided en route tour. Return to resort after tour & transfer to the airport for flight back to Miri and onward flight to KUCHING. On arrival in KUCHING, transfer to hotel. Rest of the day is free. NOTE: Please prepare an overnight bag for the Jungle Excursion tomorrow, taking with you only essential personal items for the trip. It is not advisable to carry your big suitcase for this overnight tour. (B/L)
Day 5 Kuching - Lemanak River
Meet the natives of Borneo and spend an unforgettable night with them in the longhouse. The journey takes you 290 km into beautiful countryside, with scenic stops along the way. On arrival at the jetty, board native longboats and head up the river to meet the native IBAN tribe. On arrival at the longhouse, you will be taken on a tour of the longhouse to meet the natives and their families. After dinner, join the IBAN's activities in the longhouse. Don't leave without tasting their rice wine called "TUAK". You will overnight in the longhouse. CUSTOMS OF THE LONGHOUSE: It is customary to bring some gifts for the longhouse people which can be divided by the number of families. Our guide will assist you during one of the stops en route to buy some suitable presents. This custom is only applicable to longhouse river safaris. (B/L/D)
Day 6 Lemanak River - Kuching
The cockerels will sing loud and clear for you to wake up in the morning. After breakfast, join the IBANS in a blowpipe demonstration to show off their skill. Then take the return journey back to your hotel in Kuching, with lunch en route. (B/L)
Day 7 Kuching
Daily breakfast in Hotel & check out transfer to airport for flight to your next destination. (B)
